Grabbing the current political headlines - the James Comey “86-47” case, the Fauci Covid Hearing, the Attorney General Blanche Confirmation Hearings. All are clear demonstrations of how incivility has permeated our culture.
Regardless of how these issues are ultimately resolved, they highlight a much broader challenge facing our society, we need to have better conversations to build stronger relationships to achieve better outcomes.
Our words and actions have consequences, regardless of it is in Washington D.C., on social media, at home or in the workplace.
Every day, people make conscious decisions to send an angry email, fire off a text message, launch a personal attack on social media, or post comments intended to provoke rather than understand. These actions may generate attention, but they rarely generate understanding. Instead, they deepen division, damage relationships, and make meaningful dialogue even harder.
